The 2008 Virginia Princess, Nichole Beatrice Lewis, a sophomore at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, is majoring in theater and with a minor in music. Nichole was awarded first place, Freshman category, Virginia National Association of Teachers of Singing Award (NATS) at a competition at Shenandoah Conservatory. As a sophomore Nichole placed third in the NATS competition and won second place in the regional competitions. She was also awarded a GMU music scholarship. Nichole attended Indian River High School in Chesapeake, Virginia, and served as a volunteer in Greenbrier Elementary School in her community. She comes from a military family; her father is a warrant officer in the U.S. Navy.
Nichole has come to truly love Virginia since her family moved to the state eight years ago. She states that the week as a Cherry Blossom Princess will be a great educational experience for her. She is especially excited about meeting other Princesses and learning something about the cultures of other lands, especially that of Japan.
Her hobbies include acting and music (operatic singing).
